NINFA Project
Strategic Program for National Business Research Consortia (CIEN)
Place of execution: Seville. INESPASA Facilities
Execution period (01/07/20 – 31/12/23)
Approved budget: €806,658.50
CDTI and FEDER co-financing: This project has been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) and the Center for Technological Development and Innovation with the aim of promoting technological development, innovation, and quality research.
The NINFA project with IDI-20200666 (Research for the development of aerospace solutions with New methods of evaluation, design and INspection in additive manufacturing Adapted to the entire supply chain) focuses on the development of disruptive Additive Manufacturing solutions for the design and manufacturing of both high structural commitment and secondary aeronautical components. The design solutions will take into account the definition of the optimal manufacturing route, incorporating inspection requirements, and developing non-destructive testing strategies and technology according to the component's criticality level and requirements. Furthermore, NINFA is conceived as a transversal project that seeks to leverage the synergies of its developments in other industrial sectors. In this regard, it will transfer the improvement of current additive manufacturing applications in the medical-dental sector, leveraging the impact of the project's results in other sectors.
On the other hand, online inspection, monitoring, and control methods will be developed, at the level of materials and processes, but also suited to the criticality of the components and the manufacturing technologies. Work will also be done on developing and validating suitable heat treatments and surface improvement processes; as well as on developing best fit processes to coordinate interface machining work in an efficient and industrial manner.
This project has been carefully structured to ensure an optimal balance and complementarity among all partners with the aim of achieving the project's objectives. The partners have been selected for their extensive experience in the project's development areas. Thus, the project includes the participation of a company specialized in the machining of aeronautical parts like INESPASA (consortium leader); a reference company in the design area covering all product design phases like CT INGENIEROS; an expert in heat and surface treatments like TTT; a company specialized in machining complex parts and monitoring manufacturing processes like EGILE MECHANICS; an SME expert in dimensional measurement solutions like SARIKI; and a reference SME in the manufacturing of dental structures in the medical sector like CREATECH. These six partners will be supported in their research tasks by 5 Research Organizations: FADA-CATEC, LORTEK, UPV, and VICOMTECH.
